If we could place violence into two main categories, they would be:

1-Legal Violence- Illegal violence

2- Violence that destroys culture - Cultural Violence that takes place within culture.

The concepts of culture and civilization are known as the antithesis of violence and barbarity. We tend to perceive all forms of violence and brutality as the loss of culture and civilization. This approach is an incorrect opinion under all circumstances. Today, there are examples where we can also talk about the barbarity of civilization. However, according to Freud, the fact that culture, which is thought to be the restraint of man's destructive potential, plays the leading role in displays of brutality brings up another dimension to be added. With legal violence, namely state violence, organizations such as law, etc. being the producer of extensive forms of barbarity, the wars, genocides, concentration camps, nuclear weapons and the like experienced in the 20th century are the civilized forms of this barbarity.
